In this Episode, You Will Learn:The Creative Hustlers Show - Frame Freak Studio

  • Casey Robin’s Story
  • How to find and develop your art style
  • How to overcome the gremlins in your head
  • How to use events as a business development tool
  • How to gain business skills for freelancing

Actionable Steps

  • Pick a college that will give you a strong foundation in art, storytelling, and the principles of animation. You don’t necessarily have to go to a famous school; the important thing is to learn good, solid drawing and design principles. You can also teach yourself from books and independent study.
  • Try to form genuine relationships with other artists. Whenever possible, meet people face-to-face and build friendships based on shared experience.
  • Art is not about putting more feelings, but more honest feelings into it. Relate to the art piece, the characters, really try and enter your character skin.
  • It’s easier to believe in somebody else instead of yourself, but you got to be easy on you or it will reflect on your art.
  • Keep trying things, learn what you love and what you hate, after 5 years you’ll learn where you fit in and where your skills are used best.

“HONEST ART COMES FROM THIS CALM WISDOM, NOT FROM A DESPERATE PLACE”
